Kamusta y'all!     So apparently there was an earthquake in the Philippines this week, we didn't feel anything so it must have been a ways a way. The boundaries for our branch were changed, so we got to work in a new area this last week. The members got to take the lead in helping us find the members houses and introducing us to people missionaries had taught in the past. It's fun to have a new area to work in and more people to talk to.     Because Sister Su'a had to take an English test, we went to Santiago and got to see some other missionaries and members taking the test as well. I got to see Sister Mosiah from Ilagan, and Sister Sy who was my companion in Ilagan. It was really cool to talk about the people we were teaching there and to know how they're doing. They also told me that the sisters there now are teaching a lot of people in Camunatan, an area Sister Sy and I had worked in a lot. We would walk up and down that street all the time try...

Kamusta y'all!       We had a bagyo this week! But it was just a lot of rain so it wasn't anything too crazy. It did cool down for a couple days, so we were happy about that.     This last week we received a witness that this is the Lord's work and He is sending us where He needs us to be. There's a member we're teaching who hasn't been to church for nearly a year because of her job. She can only come home every once in a while, and so I've only met her a few times. As we were planning on Saturday, the thought came to me to put her in our back up plan. I didn't really expect her to be there, but figured we could at least try and didn't think much of it. When we got there Sister Clarita was so happy to see us, during the lesson she told us that on Friday night she had prayed that we would come. We did come, but not because we knew she wanted us to. The Lord answered her prayer by sending us to her home. I am just so grateful for the op...

Kamusta y'all!      Well, after several weeks of hard work in Caliguian, we got to see some miracles :) Sister Su'a and I had exchanges with our sister training leaders on Friday. Sister Cabaraban taught me a lot about finding joy in the journey, and gave us a lot of suggestions on finding new people to teach. So we applied those suggestions on Saturday, and we found five new people to teach! And they were all so cool and we're so excited to go back to them. Then Sister Gigi, who we've been teaching for a while now finally came to church! It was getting close to 10 and church was about to start, and she wasn't there yet. But she'd told us on Saturday that she was definitely coming so we hadn't lost hope yet. And then we see her daughter running in from the parking lot. They had such a great time at church, and the members were so happy to see them too.     One of the speakers in sacrament meeting yesterday talked about how obedience brings b...

Kamusta y'all!    Caliguian is still awesome, still hot, and Sister Su'a and I are still working hard. This week we got to meet our new mission President and his companion, President and Sister Craig. I'm so excited to learn from them, and I've started learning from them. President Craig shared a message about the Atonement of Jesus Christ using Alma 7:11-12:       "And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.  And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities."     When we talk about the Atonement of Christ we us...

Kamusta y'all!      So here's a story that started last week, but still isn't finished yet. Sister Su'a and I had really been working hard these past weeks on finding people to teach, but weren't succeeding. It felt like our diligent efforts weren't bringing results, but I learned again that the Lord's work is done in the Lord's way.      We were at the church early last Sunday for a meeting, and were outside waiting when a young woman arrived and was greeted by the elders from the other branch. They waved us over and explained that she wasn't a member, but lived in our area. We started asking some questions to get to know her, but she didn't really respond. So we just let her go on inside. A few minutes later a member from the other branch brings her out and introduces Kaye. She accepts our invitation to teach her and gives us her phone number.     We found her home a few days later, met her mother who said Kaye ...
