Halos lahat
Kamusta y'all!
Caliguian is still awesome, still hot, and Sister
Su'a and I are still working hard. This week we got to meet our new
mission President and his companion, President and Sister Craig. I'm so
excited to learn from them, and I've started learning from them.
President Craig shared a message about the Atonement of Jesus Christ
using Alma 7:11-12:
"And he shall go forth, suffering
pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the
word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and
the sicknesses of his people. And he will
take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his
people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels
may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know
according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their
infirmities."
When we
talk about the Atonement of Christ we usually talk about it as Him
suffering for our sins. That is especially true here in the Philippines
because the word "Pagbabayadsala" literally means the payment for sin.
But President Craig talked about how important it is for us to
understand that Christ suffered for more than just our sins. Through His
Atonement He experienced every pain, sickness, sorrow, trial, and
temptation we will ever face. Because of Him, all that is unjust and
unfair will be right.
The way for us to receive
that help and strength in our lives by coming unto Christ through His
gospel. And that's why Sister Su'a and I are here in Caliguian. Because
there are people here who are searching for peace, comfort, and healing.
And if they're willing, we can help them find it. I know that Jesus
Christ is our Savior. He lives, He loves each of us, and He will never
leave us alone.
Aganad y'all!
