Sumpa o hindi?

We were able to talk to Julia yesterday!  We got a surprise phone call at about 4:15 which was about 7 am Monday morning for her. It was so fun to talk to her. She's not sure how often she will call but she was able to find out from other missionaries that she could buy a pre paid phone card and had to switch it to work internationally.  Not sure how expensive it was and the missionaries phones cut off about every 10 minutes or so to make sure they don't use the phone too much generally. Like when the district leader calls he'll have to call back. So she had to keep calling us back. She ended up calling us 7 times :)

Kamusta y'all!
Sister Sy are having a lot of fun in Ilagan and we're learning a whole bunch together. We've also been doing a lot more walking than I was used to, but I'm getting the hang of it. In Diffun we had to take tricys a lot because everything was so spread out, but here in the city we can just walk everywhere. The only downside is that Ilagan is filled with hills. Like really steep hills in the middle of the city that we just have to walk up. So I think we'll be getting a decent amount of exercise just from that.
So I want to tell y'all the story of Brother Jerick. He's a person we're teaching and his baptism is coming up next month. He's always available for us to teach him, is ready to take on any reading assignment from the Book of Mormon, and looks up his favorite church songs on youtube. So last cycle Sister Sy's companion had to have an operation which left her on crutches for several weeks. When they could finally get back to working they had to take tricys literally everywhere they went. So, how do you find new people to teach when you can't walk around in find them? You just talk to the tricy drivers. And that was how they found Brother Jerick. So I know that all our challenges and trials have some purpose. Heavenly Father doesn't want to see us suffer, but He will make sure whatever is needed happens in order to bring to pass the salvation of His children. I know that if we trust that the Lord has a plan for us we will see the miracles He's working in our lives and the lives of those around us every day.
  Ingat y'all!
