MTC ulit
Kamusta y'all!
Well, I've left the country for the first time.
Feel free to be surprised by my sudden departure, because I can promise
you will not be more surprised than I was. A few weeks ago President Lee
told us he had been told to plan on us being there for a second
transfer, but on Saturday night we were told that we were being transferred to the Philippines. So, we had Sunday to pack and we left Monday
afternoon. Four of us flew from Jacksonville to Atlanta, and from
Atlanta to San Francisco. There we joined a group of over 30
missionaries also traveling to the Philippines. It was so fun to be
reunited with everyone from my district at the MTC, except for the ones
already in the Philippines. The first two flights weren't too bad, but
the flight to Manila was... long. It actually wasn't as bad as I'd
expected, and I managed to sleep a bit. (Though I was still completely
exhausted the entire first day in Manila.)
When we got to
Manila we found out we would be going to spend a week in the Manila MTC.
It's really small compared to the Provo MTC. Everyone is super nice and
friendly, and everyone understands when you throw Tagalog words in your
sentences. So far they've kinda been giving us a break, which is great.
Yesterday I could barely function all day, and today is P-day. They let
us go to bed a few hours early to help us get over our jet-lag which
was still several hours later than we wanted to go to bed. We got to go
to the temple today which was so cool. The Manila temple is absolutely
beautiful. I don't really know what to expect from the rest of my
experience here, but I'll be leaving Tuesday night/Wednesday morning to fly to the Cauayan mission.
The last few days have been pretty crazy, and I definitely haven't
completely adjusted yet. The MTC here is great, but I'm really just
excited to get back to work. I already miss the Florida Jacksonville
Mission, but I'm also excited to start working here. I have been so
blessed with the opportunities I've had so far, and I can't even imagine
what the rest of my mission will be like.
