Kamusta y'all!
We had a pretty good week. We found some new people to teach, and
we've been helping the Brother and Sister Emiliano get ready for their
baptism on Saturday! This week I learned about respecting the agency of
others. We have one sister we're teaching that we're struggling to help
pray. She says she prays on her own, but no matter what we try she won't
pray with us. We were getting pretty stuck about how to help her. But I
realized that we're already doing everything we can. We've taught her
how to pray and why it's important. We've encouraged her and tried to
figure out what her concerns are. We've done our part. Now it's up to
her. No one can force her to do anything she doesn't want to do.
And that's how it is for all of us. No one can force us to do
anything, good or bad. That's the power that has been given to us that
will never be taken away. We don't get to choose the results of our
choices, but our power to act is a critical part of our learning
process. "Therefore, cheer up your hearts, and remember that ye are free
to act for yourselves—to choose the way of everlasting death or the way
of eternal life." -2 Nephi 10:23
