Kamusta y'all!       We had zone conference on Wednesday which was super awesome. What was not so awesome was staying home with a fever the rest of the day... But I felt better the next day so it's all good.     The best thing that happened was Sister Judy Anne came to church yesterday!!! She's a member we've been visiting every week since I got here in May. She's super fun, but it was hard for her to come back to church after being offended. But we were able to encourage her about why we go to church. Going to church isn't for our friends or even our family. We go to church because it's a commandment from God, and because we love Him and want to show that love through our worship. And when we do so He's promised to give us additional strength and guidance. When I saw Sister Judy Anne with her daughters, I was just instantly filled with so much joy. I was recently studying Christ's parable of the prodigal's son. I know that none ...

Kamusta y'all!       The past few weeks we've really been focusing on helping the members do missionary work. An important part of our baptismal covenant is " to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in." (Mosiah 18:9) Throughout my mission I've been learning a lot about how easy it is to do little things that invite others to come unto Christ. But we've been teaching the people here about simple things they can do that will help others. Often the members are discouraged, They feel like they've already invited everyone they know and they all said no. But the result of our efforts is completely out of our control. And the fact that our invitation wasn't accepted doesn't mean we failed. I know that we succeed every time we share our testimony through our service, example, or words. And when we do, our Heavenly Father has promised that we will receive joy. (Doctrine and Covenants 18:...

Kamusta y'all!       We had sick day this week, because Sister Su'a wasn't feeling well. But that didn't slow us down for too long. We had a great time working with some members They helped us find some new people to teach, and introduced us to some less active members that we hadn't met yet.      I started over in reading the Book of Mormon this week, so when I was asked to talk in sacrament meeting I decided to talk about 1 Ne 3:5, 7. "And now, behold thy brothers murmur, saying it is a hard thing which I have required of them; but behold I have not required it of them, but it is a commandment of the Lord... And it came to pass that I Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them."   As I was pondering this story I focused ...

Kamusta y'all!     Transfers were this week, but I'm still in Caliguian! And so is Sister Su'a! This is my first time to be with a companion for more than one cycle since my first area, so that's exciting. It's good because neither of us were ready to leave yet. :)      We've been spending the past month or so teaching Sister Flordia. She's super nice and wants us to teach her, but she always says she's too busy to come to church. We visited her again this last week and she talked about how she's confused by all the different churches. Different people come and teach her different doctrines and she isn't sure what to believe. So she came to the conclusion that so many people choose and decided it didn't really matter what church she was a part of because we all believe in the same God.      We'd already been planning to teach her more about the message of the restoration of the gospel, particularly about the role of Jo...
